Chromebooks are still evolving, and if a few weeks ago we saw the first tablet with Chrome OS, today HP has announced what they claim is the first Chromebook 2 in 1 removable. It is therefore a laptop whose screen we can extract from the keyboard to turn it into a tablet.

In this way HP wants to combine the productivity of Chrome OS with the versatility that provides compatibility with Android applications. They do it with a thin device but with up to 10 hours of autonomy according to the manufacturer, with Intel Core processors and with versions of up to 8 gigs of RAM.

Instead of trying to launch a device with tablet specs, what HP has done is to launch one with integer range computer specifications with the form factor of a tablet. Not bad for those looking for options with more than 4 gigs of RAM, although all that will be reflected in the final price.

The new Chromebook x2 has a 12.3- inch QuadHD touch screen, which will come protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. This convertible features a white ceramic anodized aluminum finish with a high quality feel, and to connect the tablet and keyboard it has a magnetic hinge. In addition to the keyboard, it will also be accompanied by a stylus to get more out of tablet mode.

In its interior laten seventh generation Intel Core processors, having models of up to 8 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB of internal storage expandable up to another 256 gigs through microSD cards. All this comes with a battery that HP says will give you 10 hours of autonomy, although you’ll have to wait to try it to see how much it really stays.
